Produce Hope

The City of Portsmouth has the second highest food insecurity rate in Virginia. In 2016 it was 19.6%, which means 1 out of every 5 people you meet does not know where they will get their next meal.
Mercy Drops Dream Center works to alleviate some of this burden by distributing food in the form of lunches, groceries, and fresh vegetables. We distributed over 40,000 pounds of food in just 2018 alone. 

​The food comes from our Community Gardens and our partnerships with Operation Blessing, Chick-fil-A Portsmouth Boulevard, and Local 7-11's. Without these community partnerships there is no way we could continue to bring hope alive to our friends. Hope for not just food, but quality, fresh foods.
Produce Hope's ultimate goal is to educate, grow, and feed the communities we live in through grocery distribution, lunch distribution, and community gardens.
